What does that sound like?
As if Eartha Kitt and Alabama Shakes were making music together!
They played their first concert, back when they were still a trio—at a small venue at Vienna’s Naschmarkt. It was a short set featuring all the songs the newly formed band had just written. Who would have thought that this would be the beginning of such a successful journey? In recent years, they’ve toured around the world, played over 500 concerts, released six albums, worn out two tour buses in the process, and are once again nominated for the AMADEUS AUSTRIAN MUSIC AWARD in 2026.
So standing still isn’t part of the band’s vocabulary. But what’s even more impressive is that M&TKhave established themselves as pioneers of the modern swing scene! One of theirmost outstanding ideas—originally conceived as a stopgap solution, is the concept of “shared drums.” Here, the band members share a single drum set, a trademark that
instantly grabs attention on stage.
This original approach and their strong stage presence quickly make you forget that there are only four musicians on stage. With their clever blend of modern indie sounds and classic swing elements, they thrill fans all over the world. The rhythmic component is clearly at the forefront, without ever coming across as monotonous. M&TK write songs with depth and produce and arrange them independently and uncompromisingly, without succumbing to trends or fleeting fads.
